The rise in alcohol consumption among female consumers - which is forecast to exceed male consumption growth rates - has prompted manufactures to launch products specifically targeted at women. Meanwhile, others are changing their marketing strategies to appeal directly to women. Sales & Branding Opportunities from Social Drinking Occasions finds that companies such as beer manufacturers Stella Artois and Hoegaarden have found that positioning beer as a meal accompaniment by launching larger, shareable bottles, is an ideal way to target female drinkers.
